So, we all know that artificial intelligence (AI) is evolving at an astonishing speed, which to this day is baffling many experts in the field. In some shape or form, we all know about OpenAI and its ChatGPT model, which started the wave of the AI era. We've all heard how ChatGPT has been used in school to complete homework at lightning speed. Most of you will not know this, but ChatGPT is not the only AI Tool available in the market; there is an array of tools out there that specialize in their respective subject. We want to discuss how ChatGPT revolutionizes content creation and how a new player in the market realizes their latest model rivals ChatGPT. Today, we are talking about ChatGPT 4 vs Claude Sonnet 3.5.
Spoiler: Claude Sonnet 3.5 Is the winner (for now)
Blogging Tool: Give our Blogging Tool a try -> Just Blog It
There has been debate about ChatGPT vs Claude for quite some time about which tool is used to produce content. Alterior Digital decided to do a test of their own and see which of these titans is the most helpful with the fewest prompts given. In short, we are trying to see which tool is more intelligent at comprehending what we want with a certain type of prompt.
For this analysis, we used three prompts that remained the same from one AI tool to the other. The first prompt preps the AI engine, the second prompt creates the blog outline we want to write about, and the last prompt generates an entire blog based on given parameters.
We started with a basic initial Prompt:
"You are going to be an expert in the following fields listed below: 1. Expert Copywriter 2. SEO expert 3. Digital Marketer Do you understand?"
The responses on both were virtually the same, however, Claude appears to be more conversational. We really did not expect much out of the initial prompt just for the AI to understand what we are seeking.
"Create an outline based on the following topic: ChatGPT 4 vs Claude Sonnet 3.5. Please use a professional content structure. Before starting to write, make sure to read the guidelines listed below: 1. No H1 heading 2. Have three H2 headings 3. Have two H3 headings for each H2 heading. 4. Have three H5 headings for each H3 heading."
Ok, here is where things start to differentiate themselves. After reading the outline generated from both AI tools, we feel that ChatGPT wasted real estate with the first H2 Heading in providing an overview of GhatGPT 4 vs Claude Sonnet 3.5. This type of overview could be done in an introductory paragraph rather than an H2 with three H3. Below you will see the results from both Tools.

"This is great. Please use the outline you generated and for each H5 heading expand it. the entire blog needs to be between 1500 - 2000 words"
We've intentionally kept the prompts very generic to get a feeling if the AI Tools understand what we are trying to achieve. This is the final prompt that really sheds light that Claude Sonnet 3.5 appears to be a superior AI Tools for generating content. That said, neither of the tools reached the 1500 word count, however, Claude was a few words shy of 1400 word, while ChatGPT was shy of 700 words. There is a 700-word discrepancy between the tools.
This is crucial! When using API integration, there could be a big difference in cost-effectiveness. As of now, we can assume that Claude would be the most cost-effective tool as it could achieve more with less prompts and produce better quality content.
While both tools are great for supporting SEO Specialist like ourselves, there might be one that could outshine the other. With the small test we've done with Claude Sonnet 3.5, it appears that it could be the better overall tool. That said, ChatGPT 4 is able to produce different angles or generate better ideas for content creation. In short, maybe both tools could be used to generate the perfect SEO Content that will help rank. We will continue our testing, and when we are ready, we will provide an update with the results. We might decide to go with one tool over the other or if we decide to merge both into the automation. One thing is for sure, we will be creating an automation with Claude Sonnet 3.5, and put it to the test against our current blogging tool. Stay tune!
